User Experience
Rich graphics and advanced visual effects are a matter of course in today’s mobile phone experience. Scores of options make the user experience personal and fun. But that’s not enough. It has to be smooth. Our focus on key use cases gets tasks done quickly–at home, in the office, or on the move.
UIQ principles
User experience is all about harmony. The user interface directs the flow. Services, content and phone features blend well together. But that’s not enough. For a truly wonderful user experience, software and hardware must be designed to work together. Only then can we exceed expectations.
The user experience is about pleasure. It’s about the pleasure you get using your phone–each time and every time. It’s about using your phone the way you want to. It’s about using it to do whatever you want to do–whenever you want to do it. Our aim is to design the best possible user experience. To do this, we follow a few basic rules: Be consistent, keep it simple, insure efficiency, make it rich, add value, and fill it with fun. Find out more about UIQ principles.
Usability experts–our trademark
Users of mobile phones are our most valuable source of information. We are fine-tuned to the needs and wishes of phone users. Working closely with phone users helps us make their mobile phone use a satisfying experience. When users are active in the design process, the UI feels natural to them. Working closely with phone users is our trademark–as it has been from the very start.
We realized that the way we work with phone users was really quite special. This pushed us to create our own usability testing method. UTUM, the UIQ Technology Usability Metrics, is the name of our research method. The method is used to test and improve UI design. The key to the success of this user-centric method is to have end-users work actively with us as we design the UI. In this way, end-users play a role in the design of the very interaction that they themselves want to have. This ensures good usability. Learn more about the UTUM method.

User Interface
The user interface is what you see and hear. You see icons, lists, buttons, menus and plain text. You hear ring tones, alarms and alerts. The UI is even everything you interact with: controls you use to perform actions and text editors. Even the response you get from the phone is part of the UI. Your phone displays messages, dialogs and alerts informing you of the results of your actions and of what is happening.
Personalization
For many, a mobile phone is even an extension of themselves. It is a personal statement. UIQ lets you control the way your phone looks and what it does. All of the options are easy to use. Making your phone more personal and unique is part of the experience. We know how to do it. Discover how you can personalize your UIQ phone.
